One of my favorite travel blogs, yTravelBlog, is doing a series called Travel Pinspiration. The idea is to choose five photos from Pinterest that fit with their theme for the week, so I thought I’d try something a little different with my weekly photo post and participate. This week’s theme is People Around the World.
4000 Islands, Laos
This is one of my favorite pictures from my time in Southeast Asia. I was staying in the 4000 Islands in southern Laos, and this man stopped me to take a picture of him and who I assume is his granddaughter. They didn’t speak any English, but this little girl gave me the cutest smile when I showed her the picture on the back of my camera.
Fiordland National Park, New Zealand
While in New Zealand, Andy and I did a tour through Fiordland National Park before our overnight Milford Sound cruise. When we stopped at Monkey Creek, Andy of course needed a silly picture of himself pretending to be a monkey. I used this photo on my new site Travel Made Simple to demonstrate how body language and gestures can go a long way when you don’t speak the language.
My friend Caroline was traveling through Europe recently, and she stayed with me and Andy for a few days after going to Oktoberfest in Munich. Here she’s holding one of the giant mugs of beer you can get at Oktoberfest. Check out one of her posts about Munich here: Munich: Not for the Faint Livered
Around the same time Caroline came to stay with us, so did our friends Erica and Shaun. A few weeks earlier they were in Iceland enjoying the hot springs. This picture just makes me laugh. Check out their post here: Hidden Gem: Grettislaug Hot Springs in Iceland
Yes, another picture of Andy. There are a lot of goofy pictures of him that make me laugh, like this self portrait of him on the Greek Island of Mykonos. Check out his post about the island here: Eccentric views of Mykonos
