This week’s theme on yTravelBlog’s Travel Pinspiration series is beaches. I love beaches, even if I can’t really handle being out in the sun for hours at a time. But the sound of the ocean, especially at night, is magical. I also think they’re gorgeous despite my low tolerance for the blazing sun and heat that normally goes along with being at the beach.
My friend Amanda and I only spent two days in Bora Bora because it was so insanely expensive. Unfortunately it rained almost the entire time we were there, but it was still a gorgeous place. We entertained ourselves both nights by feeding fish through the glass on the floor of our bungalow.
Great Ocean Road
I absolutely loved the Great Ocean Road. I think I said “this is so beautiful!” every five minutes for two days straight. I had a hard time picking a picture to use for this post because it’s such an amazing part of Australia.
I never really knew much about the Gili Islands before reading about them in the Indonesia section of my guide book, and even then I didn’t give them much thought. But once I was actually in Indonesia, it seemed like a good idea to check them out. It was so unexpectedly beautiful and relaxing, and there were no cars on the three islands which added to the tranquility. This one is from Gili Air.
My friend Jaime from Breakaway Backpacker was in the Philippines recently, and he took some amazing beach pictures. These next two photos are from him, but there are so many more. Check out his post here: Photo Round Up – Week 87 & 88. (I apologize, he occasionally uses the F word. But with photos like these, I can understand why.)
