Big Ben is one of the most recognizable sights in the world. I saw it on my first trip overseas when I was 14 years old, and again towards the end of 2010 when I spent a day in London on a layover on my way to Prague. I read this week that the tower is being renamed in honor of Queen Elizabeth. While I think it’s a great honor for her, I don’t think I like the renaming of such an iconic piece of London. It always has been Big Ben, and I’m sure it will continue to be called that for quite some time no matter what the official name is.
