Dear Prague,
I had been looking forward to meeting you for quite some time. I had heard so many great things from others who had visited, but I couldn’t manage to get there myself. At least, not as soon as I wanted. But when I finally arrived, you swept me off my feet. The
ornate medieval buildings, the festive Christmas markets, the tasty sweets. It wasn’t an easy journey, with the cold temperatures and snow. You didn’t always see my best side – cold is not my thing. But you understood and showered me with plenty of sunshine, which made me love you even more.
I wrapped my newly purchased scarf tight around my neck as I wandered the streets, getting to know you better. Seeing the views from the top of the Astronomical Clock and the hill near Prague Castle fulfilled a long-held dream. Walking across Charles Bridge, with its vendors, odd statues, and street musicians, was like a comforting hug in the cold wind. Though the snow was not ideal, it made everything sparkle in the sunlight.
Three days was a short trip, but it was long enough for me to see what a great city you are. I saw many sights and experienced many things you had to offer, but I know there is so much more for me to discover. I can’t wait for the future when I can see you again.
My amazing Prague, you were worth the wait.
Love always, Ali
